Katy will be teaching Kids Yoga while she works toward her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training

Katy’s educational background is impressive, she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance Studies from the University of Saskatchewan, where she’s now one short year away from completing a second degree in Elementary Education.  She is also completing her Kids Yoga Teacher Training and will begin working towards her 200-hour certification in 2019/20.

In just a few short years, Katy has amassed a vast array of experience working in her fields of interest, especially with children.  She has worked at the Museum of Antiquities as Education Coordinator, the Children’s Discovery Museum, the before and after-school programs at YMCA, a Crossfit Kids Camp Leader, and is currently working as a nanny for a local family.

Katy has an interest in teaching kids yoga because she has seen the benefits first hand that yoga can have on the body and mind.  She wants to give kids the opportunity to learn strategies that will allow them to cope with all of the challenges that they will face in life and give them a space where they are happy to unwind and unplug.

As Katy beautifully stated, “Yoga is a great practice that opens the door to a world of mindfulness and body positivity, things that our youth need now more than ever!”
